These are the memories of Aspen shared by her brother Oak (IV) at the service. If you have a memory you would like to share, please do so in the comments below.

  1. I am so lucky that you were my very first best friend and that I got to grow up with you by my side and from afar. I will always cherish the memories we made together. You are someone who emulates kindness, talent and love. You always put others first and everyone wanted to be your friend! You will be missed by so many. – Maddie
  2. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to meet Aspen. She had such a beautiful spirit and so fully emulated the light of Christ. Her trust in God was so clear. What an incredible example.
  3. I am deeply saddened to hear about Aspen’s passing. She was truly a remarkable person, radiating warmth and talent wherever she went. The love she had for everyone around her was palpable, and her passion for music was inspiring.
  4. Aspen was a lovely lady. It was inspiring how she kept on moving even when everything seemed against her.
  5. My heart is broken to hear this. I was Aspen’s teacher at Summit. I spent a lot of time with her and learned a lot from her. She stood up for the underdog, showed respect and worked hard. What a light and talented soul.
  6. I was her Assistant Principal and Aspens impact on the Summit community and my life personally was significant.
  7. I’m glad I had the chance to get to know your sweet daughter. She was always so kind and Christlike. Every conversation was meaningful. Even as her health declined, she only tried to be more mindful of others.
  8. I was also someone at Summit who was touched, inspired, and taught by Aspen. She was a beautiful light, example, and gift to so many during her years with us. She was much loved and will remain in many hearts, especially mine.
  9. Knowing Aspen and having her as a friend was like winning the lottery. Her heart was full of so much love, the love she gave my daughter, and would sing to her “you are my sunshine” every time she was tired. Aspen was so loving to me and my daughter I’ll never forget the love she made us feel. Waking up in the morning of Zoe’s first months with some delicious breakfast made by Aspen. I’m definitely in line to give Aspen the biggest hug. -Delphina
  10. My dearest Aspen…you taught me so much. You taught me how to not to be afraid. You taught me to stop being so coarse. Your love and actions proved to me that you are a genuine soul. You showed kindness and love everywhere you went. You lit up every room. You could make an entire rooms mood shift. I believe that only the best of Gods angels get to be here for a short time. I am positive you are his best angel, definitely my favorite anyway. I absolutely love and adored you in every single aspect. You were my older sister. My mentor. My guide. I miss you, and i love you. I am glad that you are at peace.

Aspen had shown me a love that I wasn’t used to. One without strings. Without conditions. One where I didn’t have to pretend to be anyone or anything. She loved me for my mistakes, my imperfections. She loved me through my anger. She loved me even when I couldn’t care about myself. And I never let anyone belittle her or disrespect her when I was there. I loved her so much. One time Shawn and I were taking a nap on the couch, and she played the piano for HOURS because she didn’t want us to wake up. – Spring
